Sailing and what's nuts in SecondLife
It's close but I can see a couple of small differences. I'd say number 3.../Netrom
I say it's both 1 and 3. She's the beta version of the new Fizz out for a test.
OMG, it's the new Flying Fizz 4 prototype. it's supposed to be a secret...
Ofcourse it is super secret, teehee. Should I say "Hello Craig?"
You can say "hello Craig" if You want, but You would look a little silly if You did :)
Ok, so it's not a real live Flying Fizz. I guess we all knew that. It's a VX One. Beautiful little thing. Google it or check www.vxone.org. Looks like a lot of fun.
Arrgs, why am I so late to the party? As an avid Sailing Anarchy reader VX One was the second thing that came to mind after I dismissed the 29er idea.
Noodles, I took a look at the vx one site. It looks an awful lot like the Fizz... fond memories there! This is a new class, apparently started in 2012. Were the designers inspired by the Fizz? The Transom is a bit different...nearly non-existent on the vx one. Also, the vx one is intended for 2 or 3 sailors, where the Fizz is 1 or 2. The real boat has a bulb on the keel, though you will not see this unless you turtle the boat. Aside from these differences, they look the same. The performance specs on the vx one are pretty amazing. My verdict: I'd call it a real live Fizz, though the builder might disagree.
Hi Jim, I also noticed the keel. As dingy-ish as the Flying Fizz may feel like - it still has a fixed centerboard. In the helpfile it is mentioned that clicking on the CB will toggle it up/down, but it doesn't seem to work on 3.06, 3.07 or 3.08. I just checked with Liv: It never worked. So in fact the Fizz and the VX are very much alike.
